Pathological teeth

Once in a while, if you’re lucky, you may find a tooth with an abnormal, or deformed, shape. One of the most common causes, Dr. Manning explains, “is if the shark bites down on something sharp, like a fin spine, and it penetrates the shark’s jaw, it can damage the tooth germ, where a tooth is formed – meaning that all teeth later created by that germ will be deformed.”
